Just a quick doodle. Not sure how far I’ll take this one, it was just the first idea that came to mind.
EDIT: I’m calling this done and moving on.
It feels like the idea is solid, but I’m not sure that the whole micro idea comes across. Plus, I’d have lots of work to do on the colors by playing around with the gamut thingy again here.
Exactly what I was thinking @Michelist ! He’s sitting in front of the lawn, fishing in a puddle on the driveway.
I see what you’re saying @Elixiah only the subject has shrunk (and their cloths, hopefully!) everything else is the same … I’ll move more in that direction!
I’ve been looking around for inspiration. I think I have a next idea…
One inch (2.54cm, for those of us used to metric units, which is probably the vast majority ) is really tiny…
I first had to think of the anime adaption of The Borrowers, but those are already about 5 times larger…
Fishing would be a challenge. Even guppies would be like giant marlins or tuna…
It feels a bit Lilliputian.
My worry is that when this is done and all the detail is added in, while it may be a cool landscape that really plays with scale, I worry the artist figure will be lost in the mix. I’ll take this a bit further and see how it goes… maybe if I play with composition and have more details point towards him…
Animal wise, you would be shorter than a chipmunk (laying on all fours). A chipmunk would be fairly close to an equivalent scale comparison of us to a Horse at normal scale.
Grass is often cut to closer to 3 inches. So again - that 1 inch scale is REALLY tiny comparatively.
I’m nowhere near the skill of most artists here, I have the mental creativity and I’m fleshing out an idea.
I hope you make sure that there is plenty of contrast between the field and the tiny figure. It took me a while to find the guy. I tend to look in the center first. Dunno if that’s helpful at all. Keep up the good work!
My dictionary say an inch = 2.5 cm so the ant is too big. But then I remember that some years ago we did have some anormaly big red ant (it was a pain to deal with it), so with a bit of adjustement that should work.
