New Study: Asteroid Capture in Lunar Orbit
Hi everyone,
I’d like to share a quick sketch I recently finished. The piece depicts the moment an asteroid is positioned into the Moon’s orbit.
This isn’t a polished, final work; it was a speed painting exercise done primarily to keep my hands active and maintain my daily practice. Sometimes, working quickly forces you to focus more on composition and lighting values rather than getting bogged down in minute details, which is always a valuable challenge.
The goal was to explore the contrast between the desolate lunar surface and the arrival of this new celestial body, maintaining the sobriety that a space theme demands.
Specifications:
Format: Quick sketch.
Theme: Space engineering / Astrodynamics.
Focus: Brushwork and lighting practice.
Constructive feedback regarding the asteroid’s volume and lighting is always welcome.
