船旅の途中、広い湖に辿り着いたキキとレオン。夜の中でも輝く紅葉に、ふたりはとても心を揺さぶられました。そこで、キキはキャンパスに、レオンはタブレットに、それぞれ絵を描くことにしました。

まずはじめにキキとレオンにどんな旅をさせるか考えました。どの四季がいちばん見たいか。昨年は紅葉狩りに行ってないことを思い出し、秋にしました。ラフ案を４つ作りましたが、最終的には一番最後に考えたラフを採用しました。数年前に行った近くの寺には、池がありました。たくさんの紅葉の葉が浮かぶ水面下では錦鯉が数尾泳いでいました。そしてつぎに厳島神社に行ったときの海に浮かぶ大きな鳥居を思い出しました。旅行した時に撮った写真を見返していると、とても印象的だったので、この絵では大きな紅葉の木を鳥居に見立てて、たくさんの紅葉の葉を湖に散らせることにしました。

作画は、すべてをKrita4.4.3で完結させました。このコンテストで公開されているバンドルやもとから入っているデフォルトのブラシ、自分で撮った写真を参考に作った紅葉の葉のブラシを使用しています。加工は、機能がどんどん豊富になっている変形機能を重宝しつつ、フィルタとG’micで高めの彩色に仕上げました。キキとレオンは、Tyson Tanさんと Ajamarie Abadさんの資料を参考にしながら、少し見た目の装いを変えて描いてみました。正面の顔を描きたかったけど構図的に後ろ姿になってしまいました。しかし、それも可愛いかな…と思いました。

- The drawing was completed entirely in Krita 4.4.3. I used the bundle available in this contest, the default brushes included in the bundle, and the leaf brushes I made from my own photos. For processing, I used filters and G’mic to enhance the colors, while making use of the transform function, which is becoming more and more feature-rich. For Kiki and Leon, I used Tyson Tan’s and Ajamarie Abad’s materials as a reference, and tried to draw them with a slightly different look. I wanted to draw their front faces, but due to the composition, they ended up looking backwards. However, I thought it would be cute too.
