This is a WIP thread, because more will be added.
For an animation project I’m working on, I’m currently making some backgrounds.
Everything is supposed to have a sepia feel, so for that reason all the works are in reddish browns.
I’m also experimenting with sepia inking layers, inspired by this very interesting method, which also works pretty well in krita: Make Your Digital Sketching Fun With This Easy Layer Setup! (In Any App)
The animation clip revolves around the theme of ‘a television set’, which is the title of the song (albeit in dutch).
The idea is that it is hard to ignore a tv when it is switched on, and that we are surrounded by screens every day.
The main character starts watching tv, is then seated in a bus taking him to a tv store, which is even open at night.
The video will be roughly 50% animated, with the sepia of the animation contrasted by blue monochrome live footage.
The starting scene, of the main character watching tv. There are scenes inbetween that I will not share yet, because the main character is the recording artist’s design.
The same principle applies here, as this scene will only feature in the video with the character in it.
TV screens in the bus, you may catch a small glimpse of the main character, this time interpreted by me.
The busstop, a bus will travel here, dropping off the character.
To be continued…
