I customize very little about Krita, but this is something I would like to retrieve if I was to change machine. Any way to save these favorite presets easily?
Just to be clear, I’m not looking to back up the brush presets, but the fact that they are a favorite.
You want to back up your “My Favorites” brush presets, but without backing the presets up, but the fact¹ that they are favorites?
Are you talking about tagging them as “* My favorites” (the existing tag in Krita) and saving these tags?
Or are you talking about something different?
If so, you should tell us what qualifies these brushes as your favorites, or how do you mark them as your favorites, because I just don’t know of any other way to do that in Krita beside tagging.
As said, the only current way is to tag brushes with whatever tag you want, so “My Favorites” in your case, and let Krita show only these tags. Furthermore, you can save these self defined tags, but Krita has no favor-mechanism in its sense, only a way to make use of tagging for this purpose. And you can save that.
In order to save these tags do in Krita ‘‘Settings’’ → ‘‘Manage Resources…’’ →’‘Save Tags to Folder’'.

¹You can not make a backup of facts, facts are immaterial.
For a new computer, I’d do a full migration and copy the config/settings files and the resources folder over. All you need is a usb memory stick, or Dropbox or Google Drive etc.
