Then I have to nominate the work Rainbow Gulch and Clouds from our user @Brian_Bigelow, which, at least to my best knowledge, like all his works wasn’t done with a graphics tablet, and that makes Brian’s works so special for me. Perhaps you too believe that this has to be honored?
Another work I like to nominate is Doctor, doctor, give me the news! from our user @Awez, execution of the work as well as the humor carried by it left no choice for me, it should be seen by more people I believe!
Another image I would like to nominate is the work Last Respite by our user @lenovoaxioo, as it always makes me feel good when my app for changing background images displays it on my screens. Does it warm your heart the way it warms mine? Then maybe it’s time to vote for it!
Thank you for the additional information.
With your skills, I suspect you could benefit from specialized hardware, and I would love to see what you could achieve if you had the opportunity to use someone’s graphics tablet, but I know that your preferences lie in a different area, and I don’t want to push you in a direction that might make you uncomfortable. It’s enough for me to enjoy your work.
Have fun painting, that’s much more important!
I’ll probably be getting one late this year. I was looking at them on Amazon and think I might get myself one for a Christmas present. The refurbished Chromebooks cost about $80 each so they were pretty cheap.
Not sure I would recommend one to someone else for what I’m doing with them but I’m making them work. There’s not enough memory to pull up the stock photography I shot with my Canon SLR however. That was good however. It forced me to shoot new reference images.
I was so busy last month I missed the deadline for nominations - so after perusing all the art posted over the past couple of months I ended up with 11 images shortlisted for nomination!
It was a difficult choice, but I’ve settled on these five for now - I’ll keep the other’s in mind for next month!
It’s time to vote on the featured artwork nominations for August/September 2025. This poll will be open until 2025-09-14T18:00:00Z. Once the poll closes, the top 5 images will be added to the featured artwork gallery.
The top 5 images are now displayed on the banner and will be entered into the Best of Krita-Artists 2025 competition next January.
Tie-Breaker
We had a tie with three images each receiving 20% of the votes. Discourse displays ties in alphabetical order so we refer to the artists’ original upload posts to determine which image was the first uploaded to K-A. In this case, BHiggins uploaded their image on June 27th, making it the first of these three fine images.
