Nominating ‘Marimari_en’ by @Montie
I’ve scoured the artwork posted over the last month and ended up with a very long list of worthy nominations. In spite of that, I felt compelled to go back to my shortlist for last month because I really liked this piece by Montie, and I feel like it deserved more attention. In fact - I didn’t notice it myself until I went looking for candidates for nomination last month.
I don’t think it jumps out as a thumbnail, but on closer inspection I’m excited by how nice the drawing is. The pose, foreshortening, energy and line weights are all really nicely handled. The rendering is also very well done for the style - including the colouring of the lineart.
I feel frustrated again having to pass on so many other worthy pieces - even more so as I missed a month. I wish we could nominate more than one!
