Beta 5.1: feature request: erase cursor not just for brush tool

I really appreciate the addition of the Eraser icon to the brush tool, it is very useful!
If possible I would like to have the same cursor indicator when using the figure tools (pen tool, ellipse, etc) as I often use these tools to build up an illustration, and having an indication of using eraser mode would be useful.

Hi, i think you can do it by choosing tool icon in the “brush cursor icon” in the settings

@Mako_Matt I don’t think it does. I only see it working with the Freehand Brush, Dynamic Brush and Multibrush tools.

It only seems to work for the brush tools, not the figure tools.

I’ve started a merge request for this here:

The cursors are basically the typical tool cursors with an added eraser icon.

Hi everyone,

I also find this change very useful, especially for people (like me) using krita in full Canvas Mode.
If I understand well by reading the GitLab thread this will be included in Krita 5.3, is that correct?

The milestone is set for 5.3 but it depends on the completion of the TODO mentioned there by @tom

TODO:

  • Add and use eraser cursors for Polygon, Polyline, Bezier Curve, Freehand Path, and maybe Enclose-and-fill.
  • Slightly tweak the freehand brush eraser cursor to make the eraser indicator a bit less detached from the main cursor, and maybe a bit smaller.

This is now merged in krita and will be available in nightlies and in 5.3 I think.
