Bezier Curve Tool Questions

I saw a question about how to do something with the Bezier Curve Tool. I didn’t really understand what the question was asking, so I tried to see if I could figure out how I would use it, and came up with my own questions.

The Bezier Curve Tool works on both vector and paint layers (and it looks like on other layer types as well), but it works differently.

On a paint layer, it uses the current brush and strokes the final curve with the current brush.

On a vector layer it uses the brush size, over the path.

This different behaviour is quite acceptable, but there’s a few other differences (which are also to be expected).

On a paint layer, once you put the stroke on, it just is pixels (which is expected). On the vector layer, you can edit the curve, but it seems that you can’t edit the brush.

What I’d like to be able to do, is to be able to edit the path, and “commit” it to a paint layer with the current brush.

I feel this is probably somehow possible. I am not entirely sure how it would end up working though.

Hi

When you have drawn your bezier vector shape, select it, select the brush and go to menu Edit > Stroke selected shape

it will create a new paint layer with your shape painted with the current brush

Thank you,

That does exactly what I want. Thank you so much. It’s simple once you know it. Which it seems often it is with Krita. But while you can find stuff with searches, it’s often hard to find stuff in the interface. Which is sort of understandable.
