There’s the flat colors and the line clouds, AND the intricate bricks and shingles at the same time—something about it feels whimsical~ And the green and purple of the building, the blue and orange of the windows…the use of color is delightful!

Thank you! This was one of those pieces that started out so bad, I almost trashed it. I started out using realistic colors but it looked boring, so switched to saturated royal colors and was pleasantly surprised at the look.

Yeah, “royal” is a great word to describe the colors with. But I feel like there’s just something more, something about them that just works so well that it’s blowing my mind, and I can’t find a better word to say that! It reminds me of really good cartoons, and the boardgame Clue, and spooky houses, and the clouds feel like they’re making a statement of some kind, and I just love it so much!!!
