Firstfully I’d like to say that I love krita. I’m a mainly programmer, and I don’t want to pay subscription fee for that very well known properiatery software alternative, so this really has been a blessing.
So that brings me here to complain (out of love)
What is with the “because I said so”-style maximum sizes on brushes and also on some layer style effects.
Like if youre just using for example A4 design template its very easy to hit the 250px size limit on glow layer style.
Maximum brush size can be changed in Settings > Configure Krita > General > Miscellaneous > Maximum brush size.
Current default 1000px makes sense for the average computer and brush performance being inversely proportional to the square of the brush size.
We designed the layer styles to be compatible with Photoshop, so if Photoshop has a 250px limit, Krita has. We haven’t checked with any version of Photoshop more recent than CS2, though…
