I was intending to paint a map for texture displacement in a render engine. I set the document to be aces-cg for it’s linearity, and made sure my view transform in “configure krita” was sRGB. I created my document, and the whole canvas is black. Only when i make it 32 bit though.
I’m not sure if this is a bug or if it is something i’ve done wrong. I did noticemy paint showing up in the layer stack though. Just i can’t see anything in the actual image.
I’m also not sure how to paint values greater than 1. It’s needed for the texture.
You can click on the widget that shows the foreground and background color (on the top, next to the brush chooser and the brush editor button) and put in higher values. (Scene Linear Painting — Krita Manual 5.2.0 documentation)
Where exactly did you set the “view transform in configure krita”?
That one you should probably leave that alone, that won’t help you. There is also only one good value for it, which makes Krita show you the correct colors regardless of the settings of the canvas.
Btw, what is your display? Is it a wide gamut display or just a normal, sRGB display?
Which is also relevant here. If you have ACES, you have a wide gamut color space. If your display cannot show those colors anyway, it doesn’t make much sense to use it. Try “sRGB-elle-V2-g10”, that’s also linear (which you can see from the “g10” in the name), but the gamut is just sRGB, and then you can see the whole gamut.
It’s a s10 samsung FE tablet. sRGB if i remember correctly.
I actually just posted a question about the LUT docker (link to that if you are interested Color management viewer gamma in krita ). I couldn’t find it on android. Basically wanted to grade the view so i could see out of gamut stuff (in a nutshell).
