Brush bug after using transform tool

Is anyone experiencing this issue? I’m just selecting with the lasso, then switching to a brush and painting. This happens with any brush, not just spray. Seems to affect both the release and pre-release (5.1.0)

I have up-to-date nvidia drivers (if that matters).
I searched here and on bugs.kde.org, but didn’t find any one else reporting it.
I’ll report it but didn’t want to duplicate another bug…

I can’t tell if you have your freehand select tool setup so that the transform tool initiates automatically once you complete a freehand selection (and maybe that’s the part you don’t like) or possibly you’re invoking the transform tool manually and you were expecting a different result. Can you describe what your intended result is?

The issue is the white squares that appear when brushing after a transform. The blue area that is transformed completely dissappears when I paint over it.

hmm, maybe I’ll do another gif if that isn’t clear…

Oh, I see. Do you press enter after transforming? I did see a bug report on that. If the user doesn’t press enter to confirm the transform before using another tool, unexpected things can happen.

Bug report

The problem is clear on gif

But on my side I’m not able to reproduce it (Krita 5.0.2, didn’t yet tested 5.1.0)
Might need more details about how to reproduce it.

OS?
Which colorspace & colorprofile are you using?
Transform filter used?
Blending mode used?

A full screenshot of your workspace can also be useful

Thanks for the replies. I’m going to reinstall from scratch and will get back with what I find. Interestingly I used kritas record feature and the selected, transformed area doesn’t show up in the exported video. Maybe a buffering issue.

Uninstall/reinstall usually doesn’t change nothing

OK, Im thinking it was a script that I downloaded that allowed some interface customization. I uninstalled krita (removing krita folder left behind) and now both the release version and prealpha seem to work (although I tested zipped versions to avoid uninstall/reinstall).

Thanks, and sorry for wasting your time! At least dev time wasn’t wasted!

Questions are never a waste of time. I’m glad you asked. It made me dig into my tools a little more.
