Brush engine help/tutoria?

first of all am sorry if i am posting in the wrong category please redirect me if needed <3

so i have been using krita for the last 5 years but i never mess with the brush engine before, i tried following the krita blog but its a bit confusing, specially with the changes on the brush engine over the years, i was wondering if there is any comprehensive guide to follow or tutorial? i need to replicate some brushes for my work, but some of them are very complex, are old tutorials still worth it? most of them are a few years old. If anyone has an advice on where to start to understand the engine that would be nice to. Thanks for your time.

ps: never mess with engine in any program before, opacity and pressure at best C:

Ramons main videos on the Krita Youtube are a good start. The documentation is still good, but still lacks a clear explanation of what exactly everything does. it also doesn’t have a lot of great examples and comparisons. If you want specific brushes, its a good idea to ask in the forum and use the search option. or you can look at the default brushes, or download packs and see if any of those get close to what you want to replicate. theres almost everything already out there already. i hope that helps

Thanks a lot! yes my work uses very specific brushes with weird settings, that requires for the project a certain finish to it, it was specifically created for that project but i can’t use photoshop or clip (am on linux, pc not powerful enough for windows) i have tried many many brushes, nothing comes close, why i chose to ask around to learn the engine myself D: i am very shy interacting online but i will grab the courage to ask around, thanks! i will keep trying packs to!
