Brush not synced with the cursor

Type of device* : Display Tablet
Brand and version of the device: Wacom One 13
System** : Windows 11

Description of the issue (you can include screenshots):
I’ve tried recalibrating my display tablet and uninstalling and re-installing Krita, but the brushes and erasers are applying a good 2-3 inches to the right of the cursor. I have a video to show what it’s doing, but it won’t let me upload it here because I’ve only recently joined the forums. It’s only happening on Krita, not other software.

 Hello @EpicureanBard, and welcome to the forum!

Since I have to sleep now, this will be only a short answer, or more a questioning.

The first thing you should do is to create a profile for Krita in your driver application (Control Center, or so). If you don’t know how, then please refer to your manual.

Did you disable the use of “Windows Ink” in your tablet’s driver application? And did you enable the use of “WinTab” in Krita? These two settings are those most Wacom’s will work with. In your driver application, I guess the Windows Ink setting is found together with some of the pen’s settings, but wherever it is, disable it. Now in Krita open the dialog to set Krita to use WinTab via the menu ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Configure Krita’’ >> ‘‘Tablet Settings’’, where you have to set the radio-button in front of ‘‘WinTab’’, then confirm that setting with the OK-Button in the lower right corner of that dialog and restart Krita.

Does it fix your issue? If not, then please report back, and we will see what else we can do.

By the way, a reinstallation of Krita can’t solve issues like yours, because Krita’s settings are not stored with the installation for a good reason. But if you should believe your settings have to be reset, you can do it via the menu ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Reset All Settings’’ and have to restart Krita afterward.

So, I’m logging off for sleeping. Please try my hint and good luck.

Thank you for answering despite it being so late.

One of the things I had tried to fix it was to disable Windows Ink. I tried your suggestions and they didn’t work, however, I was able to solve the problem. I went to “Settings” >> “Configure Krita” >> “Tablet Settings” and instead of clicking the radio button for “WinTab”, I clicked the one labeled “Windows 8+ Pointer Input (Windows Ink)” and restarted Krita.

Though your solution did not work, it pointed me in the right direction where I was previously directionless and I greatly appreciate your guidance. I hope you slept well.

P.S. I should also add that I “Reset All Settings” as well.

I’m happy that it works now for you!
But this means that you have Windows Ink enabled in your Wacom driver application. These settings have to match to be able to work, which means you did not fully follow my advice. If you use Windows Ink in Krita, what you just have set up, then it is enabled in your driver too, and it will work. But if you like to experiment, then disable Windows Ink it in your Wacom driver app and enable WinTab in Krita, and you will see it works too. And here I’m not speaking from my own experience, but from what I hear here in support day i day out, the latter, WinTab, should work even better. But since I use a Huion I can’t tell if that is true.

So, if you use Windows Ink in Krita, then it has to be enabled in the driver too.
And if you use WinTab in Krita, you must disable Windows Ink in the driver.
A mixed selection of these so-called APIs does not work.
