Brush occasionally misaligns with wacom pen

Type of device* : One by Wacom
Brand and version of the device: Wacom
System** : MacOS, 2020 intel MacBook Pro

Krita version: 5.2.2

* graphics tablet/display tablet/2-in-1 laptop/Android tablet
** Windows/Linux/Mac/Android, + version (you’ll find it in Help -> Show system information for bug reports)

Description of the issue (you can include screenshots):

So the issue is that every so often, the brush would offset from the pens cursor after I adjust the size of the brush. I’ve recreated this bug a few times too and can confirm that it only occurs after I adjust brush size. The only way to fix it is to close and reopen Krita which is a huge pain since this bug happens a lot to me.

Also the pen isn’t offset at all when im in the reigon outside of the actual canvas. Any fix?

I don’t know what to say as I’m not an experienced, but may try once.
Please try doing these steps:

  1. Update Drivers: Ensure that your Wacom drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues with software like Krita.
  2. Krita Settings: Check your Krita settings. Go to Settings > Configure Krita > Tablet Settings and try different options under “Tablet API” (e.g., Wintab vs. Windows Ink). Sometimes switching these can resolve cursor issues.
  3. Brush Stabilizer: If you have the brush stabilizer enabled, try turning it off. Go to Tool Options and see if disabling the stabilizer helps.
  4. Reset Krita Configuration: Sometimes, resetting Krita’s configuration can help. You can do this by renaming the kritarc file (located in your home directory under .config or Library/Preferences on Mac). Krita will create a new configuration file the next time it starts.
  5. Pen Calibration: Recalibrate your pen in the Wacom settings. Ensure that the pen is properly aligned with the screen.
  6. Check for Updates: Make sure you are using the latest version of Krita. Sometimes bugs are fixed in newer releases.

If none of these steps work, I think it would better to wait for any other to help you as my knowledge is limited here.

Thanks for the help, I’ll try the things you’ve suggested and come back if nothing works :slight_smile:
