i cant upload attachments as i just signed up for this but i did make a reddit post on the krita sub with a video, basically i was drawing as normal and suddenly the brushes started acting as if they were all dry markers and barely having any opacity to them, i even updated to the latest version of krita, restarted my laptop, unplugged/plugged in my pentablet + played with the pressure sensitivity

If it suddenly began to misbehave, then it is one possibility that your pen just broke. Have you already checked if your pen has pressure in other apps supporting pen pressure?
Please tell us which OS you use and also tell us make and model of your graphics tablet.

i sure hope not!! i checked that my pen pressure works in some other websites! im on windows 11 and my tablet is the XP-PEN Deco mini7 V2, i recently got it in may
As @Michelist suggested, the best way to rule out the possibility of a pen malfunction is to try it with another drawing programme.
Have you changed the pen tip recently, by any chance? Because if it isn’t inserted all the way in, it can cause pressure issues.
I sometimes find that the XP-PEN software sets it to a different pen model. Have you already checked that it’s set to your model?
