What do you mean, “Navigate the top menu”? Also, is it only the canvas which is locked or everything inside Krita?

I meant the very top of the UI, where you can choose menus, like “Files”, “Edit”, “View”, etc.
Yeah I am not very good at explaining, sorry.
Hmm, I can’t reproduce this. Can you please share a screen recording of how you’re able to freeze?

@Magolorchan The video you uploaded displays Krita’s startup page. Yes, almost everything is locked on the startup page. It’s supposed to be locked. The only actions you can take from the startup page are:
- In Start,create a new .kra file or open an existing file from your device
- Open your most recently used documents from the Recent Documents list
- Visit one of the bookmarked sites from the Community section
- Read Krita news (if you enabled that section)
- Open a new file by dragging an image into the window
Once you fully open Krita by creating a new document or opening an existing document all the menu actions and toolbox tools will be clickable.

Apparently the canvas still works in this video, but still, the UI is not working once you mess around the menubar. The brush cursor also stopped going along the S-Pen’s hover, with the only way to move the cursor is to draw on the canvas. Maybe there is a chance that the canvas is also not working sometimes
I have added this bug to my todos. This is one of the old bugs which was fixed, but apparently this has resurfaced.
