I’m not really sure what category this belongs in, but this one is the most accurate lol.
So basically, it has happened to me a few times that I save, exit an artwork, and when I re-enter, all the layers are merged together with no way of undoing. I’ve been using Krita for a few years, and this hadn’t happened to me until like a year ago when it started. It doesn’t happen every time, and there doesn’t seem to be a pattern to what causes it. It’s bothering me quite a bit and at this point, I live with the constant fear of saving and quitting LMAO
It sounds like you are saving the document as a file with a .png or .jpg file extension or othjer non-layered image file format.
If you did that then there should be a warning sign and message on the saving dialogue.
You should always Save as a .kra file and only use the File → Export action for creating .png, .jpg, etc.
Thank you so much! I’ve been saving the drawings as PNGs, because the file size decreases a lot, allowing me to share it in Discord without needing Nitro or having it be bad quality (as a screenshot would LMAO). Thanks again for your help
