I’m a Buli Notes user. Krita 5.2.1 I noticed something odd when opening the Buli Notes window. The value of the currently selected brush size changes to 5 px. It changes back when the Buli Notes window is closed. Does this for any brush type. Just wanted to confirm with users before sending a bug report. It’s not much of a bug but it caught my attention. Actually not sure if it’s a Krita problem or Buli Notes.
Perhaps @Grum999 as the author knows something about it.
Hi
That’s a “normal” behavior…
In BuliNote you can take hand written notes:
This windows set a default brush with color, size, for the scratchpad.
And unless scratchpad is able to provide its own brush preset through API, the only possible way to do it is to temporarily change brush properties of current document view.
Then that’s what the plugin does: change brush when window is opened and restore initial values when window is closed.
You can always open a ticket in github if you have question or think you have a bug, it’s not a problem ![]()
@Takiro thanks for ping

Grum is back! We haven’t had a sausage in the monthly challenge in way too long!
Ahh makes perfect sense. Thanks for explaining it!
You’re welcome

I still don’t know if I’m back yet or not but at least I’m here to help/answer questions about my plugins.
Concerning sausages, mmmh, I didn’t used my tablet since april I think ![]()

Act as you see fit, even if we miss you.

That does sound like a bit of an odd glitch. I’m not a Buli Notes user myself, but it’s always helpful to check in with the community before filing a bug report. It could be something to do with the integration between Buli Notes and Krita.
Hi
That’s not a bug, I gave a precise explanation about the origin of the problem ![]()
Also what I wanted to say is, it’s not a problem for me if a bug is opened on GitHub repository of plugin, I’ll give an explanation and requalify it.

Funny to see this post pop up again. I think what confused me originally about this matter (and maybe it needs a bit more mediation), was, I thought I could keep the Buli Notes window open while doing other things. But that doesn’t seem possible if the Buli Notes window grabs focus from the canvas brush size. To me it’s a minor issue and not one worth agonizing over. But, in my case, I collect a lot of notes there and it would be helpful to have Buli Notes window open on my second monitor so I can see what changes I need to make to brushes and brush sizes and such while I’m drawing.
The main window to create/edit note is modal, so even if the canvas brush size properties where not modified by plugin while this window is visible, you won’t be able to draw.
You don’t keep it opened when drawing.
Instead, you have the notes “post-it”, you can keep them opened and visible at any time on your second monitor (click the “pin” icon for that)

Thanks for bringing this up. I’ve encountered some quirks like that before, too. It’s like when I was sketching in my notebook and suddenly the pen color changed on its own! Anyway, when it comes to tech hiccups, it’s always good to check in with other users first. Reminds me of when I used to troubleshoot issues with my digital art software. Keeping track of these little bugs in an online notepad can be super helpful. Who knows, maybe other Buli Notes users have experienced the same thing.
I’m sincerely not sure what you are taking about.
Of course ALL users will have the same thing… I’ve explained it in details why it occurs, this is how the implementation is made and it is implemented like this because with current API there’s currently no other way to do it… ![]()

Ahh got it! That’s nice. It was there right in front of me the whole time lol
