Call for Artwork for the 5.0 release notes

I do anime style here and has been since the start. It just that my skills are not in the can be featured level yet.

I can say is Krita been pretty good in it since I got my hand on it

I’m nor sure how to post images with links instead of uploads, but bellow is the artwork I’ve done with Krita (there are several I haven’t posted on the gallery yet).

Warning as this last one could be considered somewhat gory, but this is the very first painting I ever did with Krita and, even if it is far from perfect, still one I am the most proud of: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Ka9o5W

I’ve done this piece a while ago, like in the krita 4.4.3 days, since recently I’m playing krita 5 new brushes mostly for rough sketch.

As for anime/manga style, I still cannot get used to the workfolw, so it seems kinda rough

Hi. Is there an end-date to deliver the artwork? Also: I assume you’d want PNG format, what would be the ideal resolution? 300dpi, 72 dpi? image size?
Thanks!

Please feel to use this drawing I did in Krita 4

The original si

The original size is fine; ideally I’d start preparing the screenshots and the press pack next week, since we’re aiming to release by the end of this month.

Ah, it would also be good if we could have one or two animations in .kra file format

@Grum999’s “Do not follow the sausages”, he mentioned above ↑, is an animation…

Edit: But I don’t know if it also exists completely as a KRA file.

I hope I get to finish something this weekend and make it on time.

I didn’t made many finished painting with Krita 5, more were sketches that ended not even being saved. This artwork was done entirely in Krita 5 - Arizona creek. Not satisfied I painted another similar piece but didn’t post anywhere. Here it is:

These 2 animations loop are 100% made in Krita, using:

  • Animation curves on transformation layer for sausages & character
  • Painted frames for portals
  • And something very useful for me: the ability to animate transparency mask
  • And many clones layers…

Here screenshots of my workspace when animating:

Kra files are:

I can provide them, but not sure that sausages are serious enough to be representative of anything :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Here is a screenshot of something I’m currently working on in Krita 5- study of a Siamese Fighting Fish with the wet RGBA brushes and some of the regular RGBA brushes. Ref I used for this is from Unsplash.

When is the deadline? If you don’t mind receiving new paintings.
