Nice job. In case it’s useful, I’m thinking Hobbes’s left leg is rotated a bit awkwardly. Everything else is neatly executed; vegetation is also nice.
This is not so much an execution critique, but it might be a little more true to the comic’s mood if Hobbes’ ears pointed forward; he looks pretty tense. Depends on what you’re going for.
Overall, neat piece.

About the expression, I also agree. Calvin seems like having a lot of fun, and Hobbes is tense, like you said. I was ok with changing his expression. I noticed it, but it was not a problem for me.
