Can I convert stroke to outline?

Hello!
I’m learning how to draw a vector illustration and need to convert line/stroke to outline/shape. So it can be modified with Edit shapes tool not only by middle axis but by the edges of line.

I’m sorry if i misunderstood terms, this field is new to me. Please let me know if i need to reformulate my question

Hello @Katodd-star and welcome to the forum

It would be helpful if you could upload an image or images that illustrate what you are trying to do, with before and after sketches.

I think you may be trying to make a ‘variable width’ line between two nodes.
If so, you can’t do that with krita’s vector tools.
I think that Inkscape has that capability but I know nothing about it.

It would be possible to get that effect by using two identical vector shapes, one above the other on separate layers so you can edit the paths of lines then use a paint layer fill between them.

Thank you for your respond, @AhabGreybeard I’ll try it out!

This is a screenshot from YouTube of a tutorial on exactly what I’m trying to do. But there’s no tutorial for Krita :frowning:

To my knowledge, it’s not possible to do it in Krita

Vector functions are really basics, if you need more advanced functions to work on vector, it’s better to use Inkscape that will provide a lot a function to manipulate vectors, and then import result in krita if needed

Oh, okey. Thank you so much for information!

In this post there are instructions on how to prepare the Inkscape file to be imported by Krita.

Why not just apply “Stroke” style to the layer? That will make an outline for tour shape.
