Can Krita type a paragraph?

Hi, I looked for a tutorial and couldn’t find anything on this. Can Krita make text in a paragraph format? When I type out something it only types it in a straight line. I need to place a small paragraph of text in my scene and was hoping I could do it in Krita.

I did a search for that too. What I found was on reddit. You may have to hit the Enter key to do that manually.
(I haven’t played around with this much yet.)

Do you mean things like this →

Therefore, I used the Tab Key, but I’m not sure if that is what you wanted?

Thanks. Yeah, I hit return in the text editor and it didn’t work. The text still was in a straight line.

Here’s what I typed and it just comes out in a straight line of text. What am I doing wong?

Deselect your text, and place the cursor in front of every single line you want to “push in”, then hit the Tab-Key. Sometimes you must hit 'em twice, but that maybe the quirks of my old keyboard.

Krita can’t currently autowrap text as far as I know. You have to break it apart manually with enter.

So in the text editor I hit [RETURN KEY] to shift text to next line. That didn’t work. text is still all on same line.

Then in text editor I did what you said. I hit the [TAB] key and it just moved the text over to the right a bit but did not push it to the next line (below). Not sure what you did or what you mean. Also, can you edit the text on the page?

Hmmm… I just tried it in 5.1.0 on Android. It automatically jumped to the next line for me. It also worked when I hit Enter (Return)
What version do you have?

5.0.6 has line wrapping too.

Beside that.
You have to design a text in the editor to meet your needs, all the formatting has to be “right” there at the latest! I would always create a larger text for use in Krita in a word processor first, then copy and paste that text into Krita’s text tool (or the plugin presented at the end ↓).
Once a text is on the canvas, you can only manipulate it as a whole, but not edit it (if I’m not mistaken). So zoom in or out, rotate, pan, deform, all with the vector and transform tools.
I recommend you check out @KnowZero’s “Lazy Text Tool” plugin, it’s not perfect either, but often the better choice (and just because it’s called Prototype doesn’t make it bad). That will be the case until Krita’s text tool overhaul is complete, because the problems are well known, but Krita’s development team is probably much less than a quarter of the programmers Celsys used for CSP.
