i hope this hasn’t been asked and answered before. i would love full screen to fill the entire screen, is it possible?
Do you mean the canvas to fill the whole screen? if so its possible, go to settings>configure krita>canvas-only settings and check all the boxes, then when you go into canvas mode pressing TAB its going to be full screen
thanks for the quick reply. yes, i mean fill the whole screen with nothing else but the canvas. i just checked and all my boxes are checked. i’m using 5.2.2 with linux. would updating fix it? it’s been like this for all the versions i’ve ever used. it’s not the biggest deal, but it sure would be nice!
It works for me. I’m using Ubuntu with v5.2.9
am i doing something wrong? any ideas what i could try? maybe i should try 5.2.9, but it’s always been this way for me. i’m using Mint with Mate, can’t imagine it’s the distro. it’s all Ubuntu based basically.
What happens when you press [TAB]
there’s a top bar with a Krita logo and a circled X and bars on both sides, all grey. i could change my theme to have black bars, but i’d rather have a full screen. any ideas?
Well I should have added that I too have the top bar, but it’s very small. The side bars are just the edge of the canvas. If you zoom in it will be filled. Or at least mine is.
i think that is a linux thing, on windows and even on android it goes fully fullscreen
@globset This is my “canvas only” view in Windows 11. No bars, no margin at all. Can we see what yours looks like? Maybe that will trigger some ideas.
To hide the bar with the file name on the top go to [Settings>Configure krita>General>Window] and on the “multiple document mode” put Subwindows
YES! thank you so much! that fixed it perfectly. it’s like pulling out a splinter, or taking a pebble out of your shoe, not really too bad, but so so so much better when fixed.
