When I saved it as GIF format with checking “Also save your image as a Krita file.”, kra file is saved.
Please could you help me?

 Hello @Fukari and welcome to the forum!

I must confess, I am at a loss.
To get more attention from users with better Linux knowledge I adjusted the title of your topic a bit, I hope it’s ok for you.

I don’t have this problem with the appimage on Debian 10.
It may be some kind of Fedora problem.
So I’ve adjusted the title of the topic.

Thanks, Michelist and AhabGreybeard!
The title is become much better.

By the way, when I use LogViewer, I got this log.

You are saving as kra. ? or is it a period for ending of the sentence. Can you double check the file format name. or remove the file format and select the file format explicitly from the file format drop down

If I Save as test.kra. then I get a file called test.kra..kra

If I select " All supported formats" from the file format dropbox and try to save with a “kra.” extension, I get this error. So I’m guessing @raghukamath has found the issue here.

When I saved as test.kra., I got this message.

I tried to save as test.kra with selecting “All supported formats”. Also, I did as test with selecting kra format. Both result was failed same as first image.

If you have a text file called text.txt and edit it then Save As text.kra does that work?

@hulmanen Which OS and desktop do you use? I’m on Debian 10 MATE.

New Info: In my previous reply, I was saving as -.kra. with Files of type: Krita document.
If I use Files Of Type: All supported formats then I get the error message.

text.kra dosn’t work, because It’s type is “text/plain”.
But I can open existing kra files.
I can edit or save them.

Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon here.

Here’s the error message I got when saving as “test.kra.”

Note the two dots after .kra - @Fukari 's error only has one, so I guess it is some different cause after all.

I resolved this problem.
.kra association had been broken on my system.
I found it in this log.

[fukari@fedora ~]$ tail -f .local/share/krita.log
24 Apr 2022 13:10:48 +0900: Completed saving /home/fukari/test.kra (mime: application/vnd.appimage). Result: Krita does not support this file format.. Warning: . Size: 0
24 Apr 2022 13:10:50 +0900: Saving cancelled by the user.
24 Apr 2022 13:10:50 +0900: Saving Completed

When I checked file association on System Settings, .kra was defined filetype of “application/vnd.appimage”. So I deleted it.

Now, I can save new kra file.
