Hi, I was trying to export a Timelapse recording for one of my projects but it failed and gave the image above^. When I tried to export another project, it worked, but not for this one. I’m not sure why…

The render dimensions are too large, the codec (OpenH264) doesn’t support 4k Resolution or higher.
Is there a way for me to still export a Timelapse but with a smaller dimension or make it less than 4k resolution? Thanks for the response.
Yes, the export dialogue should have a field where you can set the output dimensions.
Thanks! Is there no other way if I want to make the dimension bigger? Is reducing the dimension the only solution?
The error message says that width times height is not allowed to exceed 9437184 pixels. That’s the limit you have to take into account.
Your canvas can be as big as you want (or what your computer can handle) but the rendering (just the output of the recording) has to be in this limit. Or perhaps you can try a different codec.

You can use a different FFmpeg version that additionally offers codecs which are not Open Source compatible, among those not Open Source compatible codecs are codecs able to render above that size.
But usually these sizes are a waste of resources, a now more and more common resolution used at YouTube is 1080P, but there are tons of vids below that resolution. 4k is existing but rarely used.
And to be honest, for timelapse-recordings and animations it is overkill. In a timelapse of 1080p, you won’t miss things you can show in a 4k+ timelapse if it is not about extremely fine details below 2 4k-pixels in size, but also the speed of a timelapse makes these details unnoticeable if you haven’t zoomed in into these details.
The next thing is that the 4k-display is a size that is slowly arriving at the desks around the world, even in the so-called first world, but I have to admit that there are communities where these are more common than in other communities, artists are such a community, but with regional differences (this is at least that what I can derive out of this forum).
So, currently it is very fine to use 1080p if you are not planning to view your video displayed on cinema-sized canvases, because there is 4096 X 2160 pixels the current DCI-standard (DCI=Digital Cinema Initiatives).
At the moment, this is mainly a resolution for technical, medicine and science applications in which these resolutions are useful (MRI brain scans, recordings of current (radio) telescopes), it can be of use in art, but timelapse recordings do not necessarily need these resolutions.
