Canvas graphics acceleration breaks tabs

I think since krita 6.0.2, Canvas Acceleration is bugged on my PC. Waited reporting in hopes it was a temporary thing, disabling canvas acceleration fixes the issue.

What happens is, if I have canvas acceleration on, tabs stop working, it only shows the latest opened file, if I have multiple tabs open of multiple files, changing to that tab does not update the canvas to that drawing. E.g. here’s two open files with canvas acceleration off.

Now, I enable canvas acceleration, and open achievement.png and herbs-bundle.png again, in that order. This is the result if I try to change the tab to achievement.png.

The layers changes, the new file is supposedly open, but the canvas is not updated.

I’m on latest archlinux, mangowm, wayland, GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (36), krita 6.0.4-2

This is a known issue that has been fixed, but will only be out with the next release (6.0.5)

Tho im not sure if the version shipped by arch will have the issue resolved, as they don’t ship our Qt patches. But if you get the 6.0.5 appimage (when that comes out) it will work.

Also this is only an issue with 6.0.x builds, if you use 5.3.x you shouldn’t have this issue at all
