Idea
Having the canvas in tab mode and being able to split the canvas horizontally or vertically like in Blender. Each block from the division could display a different document or a same instance of the document maybe.
This would be nice to have a stable display of various documents that need to comply with each other in terms of graphical design or concept.
Why not use the floating windows ? Well because any changes to the Krita window size or the split location will make the usage of space faulter and have holes. A slider division is a more consistent use of the available space.

Here is 2 views of the same document. By just grabbing the dividers you can move where the split is.

being able to move the slider and swap the images order would be good things to manage the documents on screen and how they would display.
