Not an easy choice. I decided on number 2, but I don’t know why.

That’s sooo good! I think no. 2 is more realistic because of the moss at the bottom instead of grass.

Wow. These are great. Seriously. So similar and yet distinctly different. You were smart not to give “both” as a voting option 
I agree that I had to look twice and it was hard to choose. The second is definitely more photorealistic, and for that it would have probably had my vote. But I ended up choosing #1 for the honest reason that, between the two, it made me happy when I looked at it. I’m thinking it may be ironically because it wasn’t photorealistic - but instead elicited story vibes, touching into ‘make believe’ a little - hence the happy pings.
Objectively I will say that I think the focal point of the mushroom is clearer in #1. The mushroom itself is crisper and the background is not as busy behind it - so the eye, in my opinion, is pulled towards the mushroom quicker.
But again, objectively, #2 has far more realistic rendering overall.

Thank you for your opinion. You explained the difference well. Indeed, the first one is better in terms of clarity and sharpness; I prefer the first one.
I believe that an image that can evoke emotions through its simplicity is better than an overly realistic one.

I like the mushroom shading on 1, cleaner, less mushy so easier to read. But I prefer the looks for the ground its on on 2, how the texture done make it look more mossy rather than grassy. Great job on both of them
