Very nice rendition. Did you just work in grey scale? I have a reason for asking this.

Thanks, In this case, yes. It is only shading with 90% black or even black.

Hi,

I draw a copy of a Nathan Folks portait’s.
The brushes are really good.
I use :

  • Characoal 02 Pencil-SoftGrain : to draw, very natural
  • Characoal 04 Chamois : really usefull to add little bit of dark, but when I use in real on paper it remove characoal. With this brush on the software it adds characoal
  • Characoal 07 Willow-thin : cool for texture. I miss the texture when I blend
  • Characoal 15 comp-flat
  • Characoal 16 comp-blockBG
  • Characoal 17 comp-flatEdge : I just change the rotation by “tilt direction”, but with my XP Pen I got a bug :cry: it works but not so good. With wacom it works perfectly fine.
  • Characoal 02 Blend-SoftGrain : only this one to blend. I could’nt find something that look like the original drawing. To blend I use comp-flatEdge with the erase mode and add some dark with the chamois if I erase too much.

Supergood feedback, thanks a lot. Nathan has a very polished style so is very difficult to emulate with all the gestures. Good job!
