Typicly I use “overlay” layer mode to give sensation of paper, but I got a rcomendation, that “Grain Extract” is better. Now I wonder if it really is, or ist just typical “the new thing is better” bias. Do you see visible difference in quality, or is it more like insignificant cosmetics?

The first picture looks darker than the second one, and the paper texture in the second one is smoother (?) I think the second one is sleeker, because its less pronounce… But i guess it depends on the vibe you’re going for

Thanks for your opinion.
I just realised, that I like first one more at night, when I’m tired, and the second one when I have more energy. But I guess that is typical for everyone to prefer darker illustrations at night. Maybe the question I need to answer is “do I think my illustrations are more likely to be seen by tired people in the afternoon in their houses with artificial light, or rather in public in broad daylight?”.
