Christmas Decoration - some critics please

This is my first work of this kind, with lots of leaf’s and evergreen.

I’m grateful for your critics and keen to hear, what you guys think about this painting work.

Cheers

The composition is good. To make it more interesting, I would advise you to add some highlights as well as shadows. Currently it is in the mid tone range.

Thanks a lot for your critics.

I see what you mean.

Thank you for you suggestions. When I look at it today, my own impression about my work has changed a lot  . One night sleep can make a big difference .

…maybe, i give it another try.

I also see what you mean by the highlight and shadows. I could have put on a shadow for the vase at least …bad, bad boy

Very good!

Glass is an interesting thing to draw.

Observe where is it dark, where is it bright. In the middle there’s just about no colour at all. It seems like you did paint the bright parts but skipped the darks.

Also look at the shadow, there’s a spot in it that is almost brighter than the surface it is falling on.

Thanks man, I appreciate your critics.

And merci for that good reference pic you linked. I saved it for future paintings.

I’m not sure about my work. I somehow lost the ability to observe it in an objective way.

Does the table look off or wired to you?

Well, no. I don’t see any cord.

It looks great.

A bit flat shading, but that’s a stylistic choice. Reminds me of 19th century Scandinavian art.

Might be from Skandinavia, found the reference online. Stuff like this very popular where I life.
