Color blending mode on CMYK

Hi! I put to paint image so I need to paint with CMYK mode. But I just found out I cannot use color blending mode if set file as CMYK. How to solve it? Or what is the alternative?

Which blending mode are missing when working in CMYK? I know some are not available or work differently when not in RGB but which one is it that you need?

Hello and welcome to the forum

Please explain in more detail why you think that you need to use a CMYK colour space.

It’s recomended that you use RGB/A colour space for painting.
If you’re concerned about how the image will look when printed, you can do ‘Softproofing’ to check that.

Also, if your printing needs are for very high quality then you should be talking with the printing company that will be printing your artwork.

Because the painting company told me I should use CMYK to paint before painting, otherwise color will be different on paper. Thank you so much! I never heard of Softproofing before. What are great technique!

color mode

Did they also send you their printers color profile? otherwise the prints won’t be accurate anyway.

Here’s an interesting topic about it

And there’s also a cool feature in Krita, you can have your color selector in CMYK space while your image is that n RGB. That makes correcting colors in soft proofing easier for me, because I can pick close colors from the start. But it won’t prevent out of gammut colors from happening when mixing on the canvas, though.
