My color picker randomly stopped working. I was running V. 5.0.6, and updated to the most recent version to try and fix it; which didn’t work.
Basically, I’ll select the tool from the toolbar and go to select the color I need from the canvas. It will very rarely work, selecting the color I picked. However, most of the time it will either come up with white, or pick the wrong color. Different places in the same area of color can come up with different colors, too.
I made sure the tool was set to select colors from the entire canvas, not just the layer I was on. When that didn’t work I tried switching it to pick from the layer I was on, and made sure I was on that layer, and no go with that, either. I made sure I wasn’t picking from a mask layer, too. I tried just about everything I can think of, and nothing worked.
If it’s needed I can update this with screen shots.
For specifics, I’m using the latest official version of Krita. I’m on one of the newer Razer laptops, and I use an Ugee tablet. The tablet is quite old at this point, from like 5 ish years ago.
It’s not any one piece. I tried a lot of my different WIPs. But my canvases average about 2,000 pixels by 2,000 pixels, with a resolution of 300. And the laptop has 16 gigabytes of RAM.
I’ll note that this has never been any issue before. The computer runs like a dream, and if it’s lagging it’s not lagging anywhere else. I’ve used this canvas size and up to double that on this laptop with no issues before. I’ve been working on this laptop for about half a year with no issues.
I’ve been working on trouble shooting while waiting for replies on this post. It turns out that either my tablet pen needed a new nib - unlkely - or it’s drivers needed updating - more likely.
Either way, it’s doing better now.
