I have been using Krita for years and have never had this problem before. Whenever I use color picker, it will not pick the correct color: not even close. Oddly enough, if I am using a reference image, the color picker works fine in it. I have rebooted my computer and re-started Krita. Neither corrected the problem.
The colour picker will be influenced by the colour profile you’re using. Can you tell us which one it is on the project in question?
Ok that may be a dumb reply but I encountered this: are you sure you selected the foreground color ? Cause I did that for a while before noticing ofc it wasn’t picking the right color :x
I doubt that’s your solution but in any case…
Hey, not sure if you’re using the color picker tool, or the CTRL+click shortcut, but color picker has a few settings that may change quite a bit how it behaves.
Click on the color picker tool, then look at the tool options docker. You can check the manual, too:
The settings here will affect CTRL+click as well. I would check this:
- is it sampling the current layer, or the merged layers?
- is the sampling radius 1px or more?
I forgot about those (I never display the tool specific docker), I’m betting on sampling radius.
I had failed to check “update color” under tool options. Thanks for your help
