Colors messed up, anyone know how to fix this?

I fixed my problem by deleating all files of krita and configurations on my PC (not JUST uninstalling from the control panel, all files), then re-dowloading Krita. so if anyone has the same issue i did, try that.
So happy days

When im trying to get a dark grey or black from the color selector it looks brown or green (depending on the shade). anyone know how i can fix this? like in configuration or something?

i went to an older drawing and color picked a dark grey and then drew it on a new canvas and it was a muddy brown color. then i tried copy and pasting what i color picked from an even it turned brown when i placed it.
ahhhhhhhh this is suposed to be a dark grey almost black

Did you accidentally set the color space of your canvas to CMYK? Or maybe just the color picker. In CMYK space you can’t get a true black.
See this example

in a panic i might of tbh. where do i go to check?
sorry im so dumb with this i just have no idea what to do

In the status bar at the bottom of your drawing

Also, check if your color picker settings. In Krita it can have a different color space than your workspace.

If nothing works, try changing from the default color profile (sRGB-elle-V2-srgbtrc) to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 . The default color profile sometimes messes up the colors, you can change by going to image>convert image color space...

@LunarKreatures While I’m not a color space expert, I do know something about it and what I know suggest that what you’re saying is not a good tip.

I don’t think IEC profile is shipped with Krita. Which means it’s a profile that was installed on your system - for example I can choose “Lenovo IdeaPad LCD profile” which is the profile of my monitor, because it was installed on my laptop by the manufacturer. I believe that what you’re saying can mean that instead of converting your images to this color space, you should change the settings of Display in Color Management in Configure Krita to this profile and then it should be working. Or not, if your image viewers don’t understand color spaces…

It’s always a bit of trouble when the color space of the display is very different from sRGB, because a lot of programs assume sRGB and for example on Windows you need to set it up yourself correctly (on Linux it should detect the color space profile of the display on its own). But saying that “sRGB profile sometimes messes up the colors” is a bit wrong, it’s just a color space (just a bit small), it doesn’t messes up colors that are inside of it. If the colors in this profile are different in Krita and outside of it, it shows the issue with color management, not an issue with the color space of the image.

I can’t confirm but sRGB IEC61966-2.1 is always present for me every time I install krita, be it in different computers and systems. As far as I know is some sort of standard profile.

No, I was talking about changing the document color space. But as you said that, it might be why this worked as a fix for so many people in a server I am in. If by default the color management is set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and the document default is sRGB-elle-V2-srgbtrc could cause the color difference from what I am understanding.

I don’t really understand your point here since both are sRGB formats.

Maybe I simplified the problem, I have no technical knowledge on color spaces but from an user view that’s what happens. But I still don’t understand what is the problem of changing the document color space. Never had any problem with this change and I always use the sRGB IEC61966-2.1. In the end i don’t really see why this is not a good tip, if it works, great, if it doesn’t, there is no harm in it. I am just really confused at this.
