There’s a minor issue I keep running into with the Contiguous Selection tool. Sometimes I’ll want to add, subtract, or intersect from my selection using the modifiers shift, alt, and shift+alt respectively. Add Subtract and Intersect work as expected, with the tool icon changing to show a - or an x under the default icon. However, when I hold shift, the tool cursor icon changes to look like the quick canvas rotation tool (which I have set to space+shift). It behaves correctly and adds to my selection like I’d expect, it’s just that the icon is wrong.
Is there some setting I may have changed to cause this? I noticed that a fresh install of Krita without my settings imported doesn’t have this issue, I just don’t know where to start looking in the settings to find what I did.
Add and intersect should be + and x, not - and x. (maybe that’s just a typo?)
I would go through all the canvas input settings looking for shortcuts using shift. When you find one (or more), remove the shift modifier and see if that clears it up.
Got it! I had a shortcut set for Shift+MiddleMouse to start Rotation Mode. Deleted that and now the cursor icons work as expected! Thanks so much for your help!
Edit: I think I understand how it works now. Krita will change the icon while waiting for the mouse key in that type of shortcut sequence. Because my shortcut was only Shift+MiddleMouse, it changed the icon while waiting for middle mouse to be pressed any time I held down shift.
