You aren’t supposed to post your Monthly Challenge entry in Artwork > Finished Artworks. You post them as a reply in Contest, Games & Collaboration > Monthly Art Contest.
Yup @Hephaestus . However, this was deemed too representative of the real world for this month, so I’m skipping submitting and just putting it here in the finished art section instead.

As far as I’m aware it is also acceptable to post the artwork in finished artworks and then link to it in the monthly art contest topic to prevent having to post it twice. Not that it matters in this case.
@steve.improvthis Well - it might not have met the brief, but it did fulfil the title! 
A rule was added a while ago that entries can’t be posted in Artworks while the contest is ongoing. I’m not sure the exact reason for that - I think maybe to avoid people nominating entries for featuring (as that’s a prize for winning), or could be so individual pieces aren’t being publicised prior to the vote (or both!) 
But - If you mean linking to the image file already posted once the contest is finished, then yes; I usually do that to help save storage space on the servers.
