It seems to be a frequent thing that people are told they should provide a link to the original reference image. Should this not be in the guidelines?
The problem is that more than 90% of all users cannot read, at least when it comes to the rules and regulations they are supposed to follow. ![]()

You may not post anything that belongs to someone else without permission.
Since this is a Krita forum you may not post anything that is not done in Krita or at least used Krita as complementary tool for example while doing a 3D artwork with blender. The majority of the work should be done in Krita. There is an exception for Traditional category,
From the Terms of Service:
While posting Fan-art the onus for acquiring the permission for using the character from the franchise holder lies with the poster/user.
We’ve been working on the assumption that giving proper credit links makes it more or less ok but many people don’t even bother to do that.
We have made changes to the text in the COC to explain the policy better. Hope this clears things out.
