Creosote Bushes in the Desert

I liked the colors of the early evening’s long shadows in some of my many vacation photos, so I painted it in a rather stylized manner that I hope portrays the simple vastness of a pristine desert area near Sand Hollow, Utah. Critique and suggestions always welcome.

I love how the stylized swirls in the sky echo the shapes of the dunes without exactly reproducing them as well as the curvature of the horizon–everything has a really nice visual rhythm!

Gorgeous and inspiring work :star_struck: The contrast of cool and warm, along with the wonderful colours playing together, is a treat for the eyes!

Thank you ! I take a lot of my references from still shots taken from my own GoPro videos and it typically curves the horizon in the distance. I kinda like the look so I also painted it that way. Not sure what you mean by image compression tho.

Wow, thank you! I’m a big fan of your work!
