Script origin and related conversation: CSP brush png extractor
python script made by: Gandahar
@Ramen5000 I moved your thread into the original one from Gandahar so that we don’t have two threads for the same resource.
its not really the same resource though its got more stuff in it, but ok ig
OK, I restored it as a separate thread but I think it’s not right to have lost all the related conversations so I added a link to the original resource.
(edited for clarity)
Some update to this, as I’ve been messing with testing these scripts to see if I can make this a possibility for the brush porting plugin – this script seems to fail on certain brushes. From what I’ve seen, this happens on brushes made at LEAST in the 1.3 version. I don’t have the access to other CSP versions to test this further, but the query would probably have to check for the version first, before running the proper query for png’s. I’ll do some more sniffing around later since I gotta focus on the Procreate one first ![]()
Question would the brush porting plugin also work on photoshop brushes ?
No. These are very different in their specifications. I believe that @Deif_Lou once started porting the ABR’s, but I don’t know what the current status of that project is. If I’m not mistaken, it’s currently on hold.

I have to say that I have nothing to do with abr file format stuff. Maybe it was someone else.
Then it must have been someone else. At least, I am relatively sure that someone at least tried to ‘unravel’ this format.
Or should I confuse this with the re-engineering of the clipping masks? Well, it’s been a while. And the question here was only whether this project could also convert ABRs, so let’s forget it.
