CTRL + TAB is not switching properly

Hi,

Before anything else, i’ve looked at other people post but it didn’t solved my problem…

So the thing is simple, i would like to beable to switch between my works using CTRL + TAB & CTRL + MAJ + TAB but it just preview the work i haveon a tab, but it just get back to the previous one (withotu actually changing it to it)

I could read some information about other posts but honestly i didn’t really understood…

I have 3 documents open in Krita right now. Ctrl+tab switches my screen to whichever one I want and the newly-displayed document is ready to be worked on, not preview only.

I’m on Windows 10 - which OS do you have?

I’m on Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon.

I took the time to check on the shortcut menu and Ctrl + Tab is not attributed to any other function so honestly i don’t really know where this could come from.

The only lead I have for now is that i had to manually attribute Ctrl + Tab to this shortcut (it wasn’t there by default)

On my Debian 10 system running the 5.1.0 appimage:

I don’t have Ctrl+ anything assigned at the system level.
With some other applications, Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab move along the highlighted toolbar options.

With krita, Ctrl+Tab is assigned to ‘Next Window’ in the keyboard shortcuts but it only highlights the next subwindow and does not switch to it when released.

Ctrl+Shift+Tab will switch between the current subwindow and the last selected subwindow.
Ctrl+Shift+Tab is not listed in the keyboard shortcuts.

Ctrl+Alt+Tab will switch to the previous subwindow of the subwindows in use. i.e with the order 3,2,1.
Ctrl+Alt+Tab is not listed in the keyboard shortcuts but it appears to be useful in this case.

It’s a mystery.

So i’ve just found an alternative :

Menu > Window >

  • Next : Ctrl + +
  • Previous : Ctrl + -

Of course it owuld be great to be able to use Ctrl + Tab (and + shift) to switch between everyone of my windows because as a right handed it would allow me to keep the pen on the tablet

But Ctrl + + (or anything else like Ctrl + CAPS LOCK for example to keep the right hand on the tablet) is working so that good for me

Ctrl+= works for me. I think Ctrl+Tab may be being intercepted by some service/utility or by the operating system. Oh well.

Yes i think that too !

Finally i’ve opted for

  • Next window : Ctrl + Caps lock
  • Previous window : Ctrl + alt + Caps lock
