Current version 5.2.14 and 5.3?

Hello, I’m using version 5.3. Is this obviously a test version? Or is it still under development, since the main page only shows version 5.2.14? What does that mean?

Nightly Build is the newest version of krita. It has the newest features and many bugs, as it is not the stable yet, but you can install and test it.

When you open Krita you can see a detailed version number (something like git 6d3651a) on the splash screen and it normally also says next to it if it is an alpha, nightly or other kind of preview build, if I remember correctly. If the splash screen goes away to fast you can see the information in Help → About Krita.

Running Krita from the command line with the --version argument will also show this info.

Sometimes, when a build is deemed too broken (has a major or dangerous bug) it gets removed from the website and replaced by an older working one but this did not happen in this case, as far as I know.
