Cut/copy a drawing to other drawing layer

Hi there. How can i cut/copy a drawing with the precise outline to a other drawing layer? And then how can i place it on a certain place without disturbing the other drawing layer?

Follow the cut/copy action, there will be a paste action.
Does the layer you’re pasting it to have existing content?

There are two ‘others’ mentioned here. What do you mean, the source layer or the destination layer?
What do you mean by ‘precise outline’?

Can you provide a screenshot that shows people what you are trying to cut/copy.

When you say: …

…What kind of disturbance are you worried about?

Yea from the source to the destination. And i mean how can i cut only the precise the outline of the drawing? So that i can place the drawing with the precisely cut outer line to the destination.

A screenshot would help us, to help you, immensely.
Please include status bar and title bar too, just to get used to make the screenshots we need.
Please show your Layers Docker as complete as possible but at least showing the layer in question.

Hello @Michelist

Use the Freehand Selection Tool (sometimes called the Lasso Tool) to draw a precise outline in the source layer.
Then do Edit -> Cut/Copy, then do Edit -> Paste and the selected drawing will appear in a new layer.

If you have an existing layer that you want the drawing to be pasted into, select that destination layer then use Edit -> Paste Into Active Layer then press the Return key to cancel the optional transform mask operation that will be provided.

I prefer to duplicate the layer with the content on it, and then apply a transparency mask, which I use to mask away the area of the layer I don’t want. This way, if I remove too much of the image, I can easily bring it back by editing the mask. When I’m happy with the results, I flatten the layer to set the editing.
