I’m cutting a piece of layer and pasting it on new one, but for some reason it pastes it completely elsewhere, partially off canvas even, instead of the same spot as it always did.
I don’t recall messing around with any setting recently so I don’t understand why it’s happening all of a sudden?
Using the 5.5.5 appimage, I made a selection over part of an image on a layer, then did Edit → Copy, then on a new paint layer I did Edit → Paste into Active Layer.
The pasted content was in exactly the same place as on the layer it was cut from.
If I did Edit → Paste then a new layer was created and the pasted content was in the same place as on the layer it was cut from.
What method did you use for this?
Can you show a full screen screenshot of your layer arrangements and the selection?
Was this some time ago with a version before 5.1.5?
If so, you could try using an older version to see if it shows the same problem.
Your image is quite complex. Can you create a simpler test image that shows the same problem?
One way to do that may be to strip out uneeded layers from the image you have.
Also, a full screen screenshot would be helpful because it would show more information.
Hey, dino.
It’s a bug, I could reproduce it (5.1.5 appimage) well found. You can report it.
This bug was introduced in version 5.1.2.
5.1.1 and previous versions do not have this bug.
