"Dada"

A painting I did a little while back from imagination. I love the look of traditional African (in this case Nigerian) aesthetic and style (especially more tribal stuff like here). Everything they do, wear and perform is so artistic and colorful. I didn’t appreciate it much growing up, but as I get older it stands out a lot. I wonder if others have similar experience with their own cultures growing up ?

Oh, ‘dada’ means ‘good’ or general wellness.

Nice sketch and I love the simplicity of the way you have captured the hair with a handful of strokes.

Thank you!

Hi @izaq I love your work (followed you on intsa). I’m new to Krita and I was wondering if you could share what brushes you used for this drawing

Makin my day, thank you🙈! I actually just use basically default brushes. In this case for the painting I used the ‘Bristle Glaze’ brush. For sketch I use a medium charcoal brush, but I’ve customized it slightly and turned down the opacity pressure so it’s always at 100%.

Best wishes on your journey!
