Digital Atelier Brush Problem Krita 5 .2022 (Solved)

Hi, I have seen some comments telling that Digital Atelier is not working in Krita 5. Well, i can say that Krita 5 runs perfectly Digital Atelier as it was created except for one brush. I tell you how to fix it, is really easy

Only the Oil 14 Round wet is a bit different but to solve the problem, go to Brush editor, Change opacity in ā€œenable pen settingsā€ to off and go to color rate and reduce to 5%. Done. you have the Digital Atelier pack with all the possibilities as was designed.

NOTE: That brush was created originally using a trick to make stronger the effect. Now in Krita 5 the trick is not needed because Smudge color brush engine is stronger with the new algorithm.

Also about RGBA brushes, you just have to modify a bit the brushtip properties. (remember DA was created before these features. )
Go to Brush editor and select ā€œBrush tipā€ and look for the ā€œLightness mapā€ in the drop down menu as i show in the image. Activate the Auto and done.

About the Watercolor in Digital Atelier, It works better in Hard mode, (you need to restart Krita to make it active) and you can change that later if you are not going to paint more with watercolor.

…but if you are going to paint with more brushes, leave it as it is. Remember you also have 14 default Water color brushes in Krita (they don’t need Hard mode. They were created after this change) The 3 green brushes are useful combined with the previous ones.

If you have questions let me know. If you don’t have Digital Atelier pack you can go here and support Krita development too :

More info about the Pack here. The price was reduced after the campaign a lot to reach more users. Thanks for your support, You make Krita bigger each day:

Remember you have the PDF listing the brushes for free.

It was designed to be printed and don’t waste too much ink!

Thank you! I just applied the change to DA Oil 14 Round Wet by overwriting and now I’m going to the RGBA brushes to see about Lightness Map → Auto.

I hope this help you.yo will enjoy even more the rgba brushes.

I changed the RGBA-wet 08 Bristles-Rough, RGBA-wet 09 Impasto BG. A lot of others were already on Auto Lightness Map.
When I realized I could do that, I changed DA Oil 21 RGBA Filler Stucco from Color Image to Lightness Map. Now I get different colors of stucco. Oh, I just decided to do that to DA Oil 22 RGBA Grey, 23 Bluegreen and 24 Orange, also. I like how those brushes make a different shade on the upstroke. It’s a lovely effect.

The reason is that i prepared DA thinking in the future.we were in 2018 but i was sure someday we will be able to do it. And now we can enjoy that feature full of new creative ideas not only oil painting by the way
