I’ve become interested in learning about and using gamut masks. I’ve discovered how creative a plain piece of art can be using them. On this quick sketch, I used a default complimentary colors gamut mask. I also discovered there is a value slider next to the mask which is very helpful in creating more contrast without going outside the color gamut. Pretty cool! Lots more to learn.

The next stage will be to learn how to make your own custom gamut masks.
There’s probably a specialist forum where you can ask for advice about that

As a person with absolutely no aptitude with color, gamut masking was a real revelation! For me, it was a way to almost conceptualize color choices the same way I usually think of choosing lights and darks. The way James Gurney presented them in his book Color and Light was really inspriring to me.

jimplex suggests James Gurney’s gamut masking method (great way to learn how to use Krita’s gamut mask!).
I know my Krita skills have improved since then, so revisiting this might be interesting!
