There’s a lot of posts indicating problems with xp-pen’s compatibility with Krita (which is weird since it’s the biggest open source software and xp-pen has some of the cheapest stuff in the market, making it ideal for beginners and hobbyists). So, I ask, has anyone tested Krita (at least somewhat thoroughly) with the xp pen 01 v2?
People have reported problems with that tablet and people have also reported that it works fine.
They say that the problems are with the driver and getting the settings right.
This is true for all tablets but some drivers are worse that others.
Also, Windows updates can ruin drivers and their configuration files.
If you get an XP Pen Deco 01 v2 and also get the latest driver from the XP Pen website and make sure any prexisting graphics tablet drivers are fully uninstalled (followed by a full power down restart) then install the drivers in accordance with the manual instructions (some need the tablet to be connected before installation, some need it to be connected after installation) and then adjust the settings correctly at the krita end and at the tablet driver utility end and also in the Windows Ink system level settings (If you’re uisng Windows Ink), then you should be ok.
What @AhabGreybeard said. I bought this tablet mostly because I couldn’t believe it was a good as my Wacom and have it connected to my backup/alternate laptop… I did initial testing and it seemed to perform well, but admittedly not used it extensively.
I did have conflicts with it and the wacom drivers and had to uninstall the wacom for the XP to work properly (pressure/tilt/etc).
